From its humble beginnings as a one-stop site for cycling routes in the sunny southern France region of Languedoc, Cycling Languedoc has grown into a tour operator, offering both guided and self guided tours around France.

The website is set up into two main functions: tours / guided rides (the tabs on the left) and cycling routes and practical information (the tabs on the right side up top).

Tours and Guided Rides

small logo blackCycling Languedoc now offers tours. Our first - The High Road Alps -  is a 7-day, fully-supported, all-inclusive epic ride through the French Alps.

Our first of many self-guided tours - Backroads of Eastern Languedoc and Nîmes-Narbonne Backroads - take in the best that this region has to offer.

And for those who just want a ride with Cycling Languedoc, we still offer half-day and full-day Guided Rides.

Routes

Click here to learn more about the region of Languedoc, and why it’s a perfect place to explore on two wheels.

Routes usually:

  • follow small, low-traffic roads or cycling paths.
  • start and finish in places with places of interest and accommodation.
  • are tried and tested by our research team…namely me!

Finding a route
To get a visual overview use the Languedoc map to start your search. Alternatively, the Find Routes tab up top will get you to routes based on distance and difficulty (and region as well). Lastly, if you’re feeling lucky, try typing a keyword in the search box, located at the bottom right of every page.

Printing maps

    • Enlarge the Google Map by clicking on the link on the bottom left. Then choose ‘Print’ from the top right.
    • If you need something with more detail then go old school and trace the map onto your Michelin.
    • Or…do as most cyclists I know do and photocopy the section you want from your Michelin map then highlight the route.

Practical Information

Routes are the guts of this site, but we’ve  also added useful information about what cycling in Languedoc actually entails…and more. Click on the tabs at the top of any page and you’ll get information on cycling-friendly accommodation, transportation, weather , wine, bike rentals , books and more.
