Description: This totally flat ride takes you from cosmopolitan Montpellier, down to the popular beaches of the Mediterranean, across the ‘border’ into Provence, stopping by a rare example of a walled crusader town, then ending up deep in the wild camargue marshland (and bullfighting center / pilgrimage site) of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.

Directions: From the Office of Tourism in Montpellier, ride towards the Polygone shopping center, turn right into the covered arcade before the main entrance, and follow the tram tracks down to the cycling path along Ave Jacques Cartier. Find your way across the Lez River and take the cycling path all the way down to the Mediterranean, in Palavas-les-flots.read more
